Fredrik Erichsen (1980 -) is a visual artist from Bornheim, Germany. The collection shown in the gallery is of his 2010 series “Concrete Love”. This body of work is an hommage to “Brutalist” architectural concrete forms and 90s graffiti & street art.

The Concrete Love series started in 2008 when Fredrik Erichsen was commissioned by the local council to create an artwork. He was asked to make it reflect about an ongoing deforestation issue. A certain group wanted to use a protected part of a forest for a commercial project. Finally the Green Party (“die Grünen”) acquired the artwork in Dec 2008 (a quadtich of 320x90cm) and hung it up in the “Reichstag” Berlin, where the German parliament is housed. It has been there ever since alongside artworks by Joseph Beuys.
